Dynamic Mention Drum Corps

Dynamic Mention Drum Corps - appearing at the Pumpkin Show since 1980. The Dynamic Mention Drum Corps is an all-percussion marching drum section from Circleville, Ohio. The corps was formed in 1980 and gave its debut performance at the Circleville Pumpkin Show that same year. They have performed and been featured in parades and concerts throughout Ohio for over a quarter of a century. The Corps' cadences are based on traditional military cadences, 1970's drum corps styles, and Latin and African rhythms, with many of the compositions written by the corps. The Dynamic Mention sound is a powerful, head turning combination of solid snares, intricate trios and quads, and powerful bass drumming, with just the right amount of cymbals and cowbells to make it totally unique. The corps' trademark mirrored sunglasses, black uniforms and white buck shoes add to the tradition that has evolved in over 25 years of performing. While small in number, the corps has a reputation for creating a head-turning, street-filling sound that forces listeners to tap their toes, clap their hands and move with the high-volume rhythms. The Dynamic Mention Drum Corps will be appearing in the Thursday and Saturday night parades, as well as in concert on Saturday at 6:15 at the Pinckney Street Stage.
