Friends showed their support
of Andrea Turner with
purple — the color of royalty
in Roman times — T-shirts,
which read “Dream with your
heart.”
Her dream came true.
Turner, a Circleville junior,
was crowned Queen
Wednesday night of the 2007
Circleville Pumpkin Show.
Her First Attendant is Sarah
Scott, a Teays Valley junior
and Rebekah Neal,
Circleville’s senior representative,
was named Second
Attendant.
Turner is the daughter of
Mark and Angela Turner. Scott
is the daughter of Mitch and
Capi and Rebekah is the
daughter of James Neal and
Tambra Nunley.
Turner said the main idea of
about festival she wants to
convey to others is the community
tradition, “where everyone
can get together and have fun,”
she said.
“I want to thank my family,
everyone at church, everyone
at school, my savior, Jesus
Christ, and everyone who puts
on the Pumpkin Show and
makes it happen.”
Once on the stage, six of the
12 queen candidates are asked
one question by a judge.
Neal was asked about the
positive aspects of growing up
in a small town. She loved
growing up in Circleville and
being familiar with the
Pumpkin Show traditions, she
said.
Scott was given the following
situation — you are driving
a new car with room for
one passenger and stop at a bus
station where there is the man
of your dreams, a man who
will give you $25,000 and a
sickly woman. What do you
do?
Scott would take the
woman to a hospital to get
help, she said.

Turner was asked what one
thing she would change about
herself.
Her selfish nature, so she
would be able to love other people
more, she said.
