Monica Lombardo

Monica Lombardo, 16, Teays Valley High School junior - Monica is the daughter of Joe and Julie Lombardo of Ashville.

At Teays Valley, Monica is involved as communications coordinator of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, Hugh O'Brien Youth Leader, student council, Teen Institute, varsity volleyball, varsity cheerleader, show choir, softball, member of Village United Methodist Church and the youth drama group. She works in the Foxfire Golf Course banquet room during the summer.

After high school she plans to go to college. She is considering a career in journalism or human relations.

If she could invite anyone to Pumpkin Show, Monica said she would invite Martin Luther King Jr. "I would invite him because he would have liked to see people from all over getting along and having a good time. When you go to the Pumpkin Show you get a sense that all is right with the world because everyone has smiles on their faces."

Monica's most enjoyable Pumpkin Show experience was when her aunt Karen would take her to the Pumpkin Show every year. "As a little girl I loved getting to spend time with my aunt Karen because she would take the day off from work to take me to the show. My mom would get me all dressed up and my aunt would take me on rides, watch the parades and buy me elephant ears!"
