She said she would invite Arnold Schwarzenegger. She would like to show
him the street filled with Pumpkins, the world's largest pumpkin pie,
and the interesting displays in the arts and crafts building. She would
introduce him to the wonderful cuisine offered at the Pumpkin Show. They
would feast on pumpkin burgers, hot chicken sandwiches, pumpkin fudge,
pumpkin rolls and Schmidt's sausages. He could meet all her friends and
family and come to realize that the Pumpkin Show is not just fun, it
conveys a sense of community pride and oneness. Then, after watching the
last parade of the evening. I know he would turn to her and say, "I'll
be back."
She described her favorite memory: With family residing in Circleville,
she has attend the Pumpkin Show every year and said each year has been
memorable. However, one year does stick in her mind as being the most
memorable. When her sister was living in an upstairs near the swinging
ship, they sat out on the roof of her building and watched all the
people and events. The temperature that night was about 30 degrees and
her sisters, friends and her decided to get a little crazy and went out
and rode the swinging ship in their T-shirts and pajama bottoms. It was
so cold, yet it was so fun.
