Audrey S. Long, 17, Zane Trace High School senior. Audrey is the
daughter of Elizabeth Robbins and Mike Long of Chillicothe. At Zane Trace
she is active as the Future Farmers of America reporter, senior class
president, Future Business Leaders of America president, a member of
National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Brookside Youth
Choir, Student Council, and she is active in cheerleading, track and 4-H.
After high school she plans to attend Ohio University to pursue a degree
in hospital administration.
If she could invite anyone to the Pumpkin Show, she would choose her
aunt, Joy Robbins-Williams. "Born and raised in Circleville, the Pumpkin
Show has always been a yearly highlight for her, ranking close to
Christmas," Long wrote. "Even after moving to Texas 20 years ago, she
planned vacations and visits home around the Pumpkin Show and only missed
attending four years. Joy and her children's visits during Pumpkin Show have
always resulted in a family reunion of sorts with everyone meeting at
Grandma and Grandpa Robbins' before going up to see the parades. Sadly, due
to her children's school activities, Joy will not be able to attend this
year. If I could grant wishes, I would grant Joy her wish to be able to
attend this year's Pumpkin Show. As I pass by our favorite parade-watching
site during the Miss Pumpkin Show parade, I will miss having her there to
cheer me on."
Long, who also was selected by her classmates to represent Zane Trace
High School during the Miss Pumpkin Show contest as a junior last year, said
the 2001 Pumpkin Show was her favorite. "What an exhilarating experience!
What an honor! That evening is forever saved in the scrapbook of my life as
one of the most unforgettable."
