Rachel Bower

Rachel Bower, 17, Logan Elm junior - Rachel is the daughter of Steve and Cynthia Bower.

Her school activities include the girls’ golf team, FFA and teacher-assistant. She is a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Her activities include Pickaway CARTEENS, Special Olympics volunteer, Pickaway County Community Foundation volunteer (Pizza Challenge), FFA class adviser, first Tee Leadership Camp, Girls golf most improved player.

Her plans after high school are to attend college in Ohio and major in apparel merchandising and product development with an emphasis on marketing.

If she could invite anyone to the Pumpkin Show, it would be to ask people who have moved away from Circleville, to come back home. Anyone who has ever lived in Pickaway County knows that the third Wednesday of October begins a four-day reunion of friends. I read a newspaper article about Logan Elm graduate Lt. Col. John Scanlan who hasn’t been here for the Show since 1977. Wouldn’t it be great for him to come back this year to see his old friends and maybe, get to see a LE girl win the title of Miss Pumpkin Show.

Her favorite memory about Pumpkin Show is meeting every year at her aunt and uncle’s house in downtown Circleville. All her family members gathered there to warm up, eat great homemade food and share good times. Then they headed out to the traditional spot to watch the evening parade. She thinks the best part of Pumpkin Show is the memories made with family and friends.
