Mya Nicole Hoefer’s favorite part of the Little Miss Pumpkin Show parade was the boom signaling the start. She’ll be hearing many more booms in the coming days as she fulfills her duty as Little Miss Pumpkin Show 2004. She is the 6-year-old daughter of Stephanie and David Hoefer and was sponsored Fiesta Hair & Tanning.

Hoefer said she looks forward to riding in the rest of the parades and spending time at Pumpkin Show.

Haley Amanda Kern was selected as first attendant. Kern was sponsored by Pritchard Electric and is the 6-year-old daughter of Lisa and Jerry Kern. She attends Mound Street Elementary School.

She said her favorite part of Pumpkin Show is the rides, particularly the Music Express.

Second Attendant is Mindy Barr of Walnut Elementary School. She is the 6-year-old-daughter of Jeff and Heather Barr. She was sponsored by StageCoach BBQ.

The three first-graders were selected out of 163 participants and were judged by Janet Williams, Brittany Young and Holly Dorr.

“That was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make,” Young said of the judging. “They’re all so beautiful and it’s so hard to chose.”

The Little Miss Pumpkin Show contest is sponsored by the Circleville Jaycees. This was the 15th and final year the Jaycees will sponsor the event.
