Courtney Congrove

Courtney Congrove, 17, Zane Trace High School senior - Courtney is the daughter of Steve and Ginger Johnson and Steve and Stephanie Congrove of Kingston.

At Zane Trace, Courtney's activities include National Honor Society Secretary, Student Council secretary, FCCLA president, Senior class treasurer, cross country, basketball and track. She is a member of the Crouse Chapel United Methodist church. Her community activities are volunteering at the Adena Regional Hospital, president of the Clover Bees 4-H club, Junior Fairboard vice-president and Junior Leaders president.

Courtney's plans after high school are to attend college and receive a degree in physical therapy. She also plans to stay active in 4-H and become an adviser so that she is able to work with young people in preparing them for their future.

The person that she would invite to the Pumpkin Show would be her great-grandma and family from Kentucky. She said their community has the Apple Festival in which they bake the largest apple pie. The two have many similarities such as food stands, crafts, games, parades, entertainment, being featured on TV and are both a wonderful homecoming for friends and family. However, Courtney said if her grandmother were able to visit the Pumpkin Show she would see that it truly is the Greatest Free Show on Earth.

One of her favorite memories of the Pumpkin Show is working for Rube's concessions for two years. She was able to be involved in the Pumpkin Show, meet many people and watch the parades without competing for a spot in the crowd. Before heading home Courtney would always enjoy a stromboli and a piece of pumpkin pie.
