Dakota VanSickle, 16, Logan Elm High School junior - Dakota is the daughter
of Tim and Debbie VanSickle of Laurelville.
Dakota is a varsity football and competition cheerleader, runs varsity
track, is a key club and TEAMS member and is on the yearbook staff and prom
committee, she was also a former class president. She is a member of the
Adelphi United Methodist Church and 4-H, and volunteers for Toys for Tots,
levy campaigns, the soup kitchen, relay for life and nursing home luau.
After high school she plans to attend college and study early childhood
development and eventually open her own daycare center.
She would like to invite the service men and women of our armed forces
to the Pumpkin Show. She would show them that without their sacrifices,
festivals like the Pumpkin Show might not be possible.
Dakota's favorite memory of the Pumpkin Show is cheering for her older
sister in the 2001 Queen's Contest. It was so exciting watching her make the
court and representing the Pumpkin Show at all the different festivals.
