Christyn Elise Barrows, 16, Teays Valley High School junior - Christyn is the daughter of Peg and Chris Barrows of Ashville.

At Teays Valley Christyn's activities include varsity and competition cheerleading, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, women's chorus and symphonic choir, French club, softball, taking honors classes and tutoring children with learning difficulties and volunteering with the elderly.

After high school she plans to attend The Ohio State University to major in dental hygiene and then attending the Dental College.

Christyn would like to invite her great-grandma, the late Stella Terry, to the Pumpkin Show because she always looked forward to the Pumpkin Show. Her great-grandma taught her the importance of family and education and that she could achieve anything in life "if you set your mind to it." Christyn thinks her great-grandma would be thrilled that she was chosen as a candidate to represent her school for Miss Pumpkin Show and would have loved to share this experience with her.

Her favorite memory of Pumpkin Show would have to be participating in the parades growing up. She has always loved the excitement of feeling like she was part of the Pumpkin Show; the energy you feel when the bands play, waving to family and friends and the smell in the air of all the great pumpkin foods. It is something she looks forward to every year.
